My husband, Chase, and I started dating in high
school when we were sixteen. I went away
to college at the University of Kansas (Rock Chalk!) and he attended Northwest
Lineman College in Meridian, Idaho.
Through the ups and downs we managed and after my four years at KU and
his three years doing contracting lineman work for different companies across
Kansas, we moved back to a small community in northwest Kansas about 20 minutes
from our childhood home. A few months
later we got Maci, a golden retriever, a few months after that we got engaged, that
next fall (2013) we got married and now we’re enjoying married life! We love building our life in a small town
(although we do regularly travel out of the area for entertainment, shopping
and good eats) but we couldn’t imagine our life anywhere else, at least at this
time.
Chase has two
older sisters and I have two older brothers, and both of our parents have been
married for 38+ years (setting wonderful examples!).
I love taking care of our home. I grew up watching my mom tend to my
childhood home, cook multiple meals a day for our family (my cattle
rancher/farmer dad and brothers), bake, garden and just be an all-around
amazing wife, mother and homemaker.
Because of that example, I enjoy doing the same.
I am documenting our journey as (sort of) newlyweds
and all of the amazing experiences that come with life. At the end of the day, nothing beats home and
the people you share it with.
XO.
